In Honor of Our Queen Supreme
It's Presidents' Day, so of course we're thinking about that moment when President Obama gave Diana Ross the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.
A truly well-deserved honor! The multi-talented Diana, born in 1944 in Detroit, rose to fame as the lead vocal singer for The Supremes. She went on to have a ground-breaking solo career in music, television, film, and stage, becoming the "female entertainer of the century" in 1976! Diana made a total of 70 hit singles during her illustrious career 👏🏿
Diana received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and in 2016 received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama (who was clearly geeking out - and who can blame him!)
Thank you, Diana, for all that you have done and continue to do ✊🏿
