Camille Rose
“Whatever you put on your body should be good enough to put in it:” the brand.
About the Founder
Janell Stephens changed the beauty industry. Years ago, when natural hair care had little market representation, Janell was in her kitchen, cooking up solutions to her family’s hair needs. What started as an attempt to create food-grade products for her five kids, soon became Camille Rose, a multi-million dollar company that revolutionized the personal care industry via the mantra “whatever you put on your body should be good enough to put in it.”
Now, she mentors other growing entrepreneurs, inspiring them to make their mark on their respective markets. She also crafted the Janell Ennis Stephens Foundation, a group that works to ease the financial burdens of families, especially those led by single mothers.
An inspiration to parents, small business owners, and beauty industry contributors everywhere, Janell Stephens is one to thank for our current hair and skin care market.

When Janell Stephens first started making products in her kitchen, it wasn’t as test recipes for a multi-million dollar business. It was as a last-ditch effort to care for her children’s chronic eczema. She found that the personal care industry lacked decent standards for what we allow in our products, and wanted to create better. In fact, she decided to craft every product, first, for her kids, and later, for millions, with the mantra “whatever you put on your body should be good enough to put in it.” And that is how Camille Rose, and its products’ food-grade ingredients, came to be. Now, they have dozens of products, many bestsellers, and the whole beauty industry watching their every move.
